Read on this website about the features of each software level (product pages) and see the features chart to compare the different software levels. You can purchase software subscriptions in different sites. We suggest you get it from a local authorized software dealer, if available in your country. They can offer you to pay locally (instead of international transactions) and attend you in your native language. Some dealers may offer additional services related to the software. Evaluate their proposals and prices before deciding where to purchase your software subscription. Please, visit the section Find a Dealer. If there is no dealer in your country, you can also purchase software products on the official website www.sierra-software.com or from the websites of other authorized dealers. |
Yes. There are demonstrations available of many software configurations. This kind of demonstrations has the same features of the software. You can install it and use it (some restrictions may apply) for a limited time. Evaluate if the product satisfies all your software needs, if it has all the required features, if it is productive enough for your requirements, if the performance on your computer is acceptable, if it is compatible with the artwork and machine file formats you will use, among other things. It is very important that you evaluate the software subscription before purchasing it, as we do not offer refunds on software subscriptions. |
MS-Windows 64 bits editions Read about the system requirements, including the compatible operating systems, in the section “System Requirements” in the pages of your software product. Do not install the updated software version on discontinued operating systems. MacOS Some users have tested the software on other operating systems, including Windows over OSX (Mac) using a virtual machine with relative success. However, we do not warrant or support other operating systems other than those indicated. |
While both standard software and software subscriptions do not prevent the programs to be executed on a virtual machine, we cannot guarantee compatibility, and we do not offer technical support to resolve problems related with the installation and use of the software on virtual machines. We just know that some users have been using virtual machines (Fusion, Parallels and VirtualBox) with relative success. |
Active subscriptions cannot be canceled. If you have any doubt about the ability of the software to meet your needs, we suggest that you contact an authorized distributor. The software distributor can answer any question, and maybe offer a software demonstration to try it. As functional demonstrations are available to evaluate the software, we do not offer refund. |
The software subscription includes the following items: The installation program Installation program can be downloaded from the Area for Users. This is always the last available version. The installation password-file This file can be downloaded from the Area for Users. This file contains the software specification, and it must be loaded during the installation process. A guide to install and activate the software This document can be downloaded from the Area for Users. It includes the step by step instructions to install and activate the software. In summary, you need to receive from your software dealer a message with the information about how to download the installation program, the installation password file, and the installation guide. No physical shipping is required. |
The number of licenses you will get when you purchase a software subscription depends on the software line. Besides your main software license, you may receive 1 or 2 additional licenses. Each software license (original or additional) has its own serial number. You can install and use the software in as many computers as the licenses you receive. Several software licenses mean several workstations for your own use (you cannot transfer the licenses to any other party). |
After your software subscription is issued, you will receive an email message with links to the website and basic instructions to download the installation program, the password-file, and the installation guide. Follow the instructions of that guide; it shows the process step by step and includes important notes. |
We have listed an action road for the case that you have any problem while trying to install the software. Follow this order as they will save you time to solve the problem. 1.Review if you have literally followed the instructions to install the software (step by step), beginning with the fulfillment of the system requirements. If you didn’t, uninstall the previous installation and start it again. 2.Visit the Area for Users of www.sierra-software.com, and search on the section Troubleshooting and Frequently Asked Questions. Probably the problem is described on that site, and the solution is immediately available. 3.Ask to the technical support staff of your software dealers. Probably the support staff has previously received from other user a problem report like yours, and they know how to fix it. 4.Ask to the software manufacturer through the Technical Support forms available in the Area for User of this website (English only). Although software installation problems (at the time of software purchase) are free of charge, the response time of the software manufacturer may be longer than the other options. |

An UPGRADE means to change the current software configuration with other one with more features. Users of software subscriptions (version 17 and higher) can UPGRADE the software if there are higher software levels in that software product lines or if there are optional features. This characteristic is only available if there is a valid and active software subscription with a remaining subscription time of more than 7 days, otherwise the user must wait until the subscription has expired and then renew the subscription with any software level (or the remaining time is lost). If your subscription includes several user licenses (several serial numbers), then all the user licenses will be upgraded at the same time. According to the software line, your current software configuration, and the available options, you can (upgrade to a better software configuration): •Change your software level with a higher one •Add optional features or modules •Both: change to a higher software level + add optional features You can upgrade your software configuration: •During the time of the software subscription, anytime with restrictions (Upgrade Only) •When you renew your software subscription (Upgrade + Renew) UPGRADE ONLY: On this way, the user must specify which is the (higher) software configuration to get. After the new software configuration is selected, our servers will calculate the remaining subscription days for the upgraded software. You decide whether to change the software and reduce the subscription time or not, before processing the upgrade request. In other words, this upgrade doesn’t require any transaction. The product can be upgraded to any better software configuration, and the cost of it is paid with subscription days (shortening the remaining subscription time). As an example, if there are 90 days until the expiration date of your former subscription, then the upgrade to a better product will shorten it to 60, 25 or X days depending on the selected product. UPGRADE + RENEW: If your subscription has expired, just renew it with any other software configuration. This situation is almost the same as purchasing a new subscription, but you keep the same serial number/s and you avoid installing the software again. If your subscription is far from the expiration date, then you can specify the new (better) software configuration on the renewal process. After the new software configuration is selected, our servers will re-calculate the remaining subscription days for the upgraded software, and add it to the time of the subscription renewal. In other words, this upgrade has the same cost of a subscription to the new software configuration, but the remaining days of the former subscriptions (shortened according to the update) will be added to the subscription days of the renewal (enlarging the normal subscription time). As an example, if a subscription renewal for 180 days of a better software configuration is purchased, and there are 90 days until the expiration date of the previous subscription; then the subscription renewal + upgrade to a better software configuration will enlarge it to 200, 250 or X days depending on the selected product. No. Even when you can see some locked components in the application, those extra/optional components are available for perpetual license products only, not for software subscriptions. Instead, some extra/optional features can be added to your software subscription. Read about “Upgrade the Software Subscription”. |
Yes, you can change the computer where the subscription works to another computer. You can do this by yourself. Simply install the software in the new computer in the same way you did it previously. At the end of the installation process, you must register the product and activate the license (subscription) on the new computer. At that time, the program will notify you that the software was previously activated on another computer (original), and that former activation will be suspended (disabled) when you register and activate the new installation. |
Updates to the newest software versions are free for Software Subscriptions. In fact, we suggest all users to update to the last software version each time a new version is released. Sometime after a new version is introduced, we stop supporting previous versions and the user must update. Then we insist: users should update to the last available software version, which is a free service for software subscriptions. |
Yes. You will receive a notice about the next expiration date on the software, before the expiration date arrives. |
You will receive a notice about the next expiration date on the software, before the expiration date arrives. That notice includes a link to the website where you can purchase the subscription renewal. You can purchase the subscription renewal from your original software dealer, or you can purchase it from the Area for Users. In order to process the subscription renewal, the serial number of your software license and your registered email address will be required. If your subscription includes additional licenses (more serial numbers), you just need to specify one of them. If you want, you can purchase the subscription renewal one month before it expires, or when you receive the notice on the software, or even after the subscription has expired. |
As mentioned in the License Agreement, Sierra Technology Group directly or through its network of authorized software dealers grants you a non-transferable license to use the software for a limited time (subscription time). Only Sierra Technology Group and authorized dealers can sell the software products created by Sierra Technology Group. The user or customer cannot sell or transfer the software license to anyone else. |
