Import rhinestone STENCIL designs

Stencil to Bling Converter

When it is necessary to import rhinestone stencil designs to the application, the stencil to bling converter is required.

Rhinestone stencil designs are are vector graphic files created with any graphic software, where the vector shapes (small circles, etc) represent the geometric information of each rhinestone. These files are prepared to cut materials on vinyl or laser cutters to produce the rhinestone stencils.

This tool can be used in 2 ways:

•Import + Convert File

•Convert Vector Objects

Import + Convert File

Convert the rhinestone stencil designs to bling beads while importing the stencil file. You can read a stencil PLT/HPGL file, convert it on-the-fly to bling beads and load it in the design document in a single step.

➢Click on the tooltab BLING

➢Click on the arrow below the "Insert" button, on the Insert Bling Objects group to display the drop-down menu. Then select "Insert a Stencil File".

A standard File-Open dialog is displayed.

➢Search the unit and folder where the HPGL/PLT file is stored.

➢Select the HPGL/PLT file and press Open.

Reading and converting the HPGL/PLT file can take a few minutes. A progress bar is displayed during this process.

Once finished, the HPGL/PLT File Import dialog box is displayed.

You must assign a bling type to each recognized pattern (color, size) of the HPGL/PLT file.

This tool contains two lists:

•The left list contains each recognized pattern (color, size) of the HPGL/PLT file.

•The right list shows the current stones palette.

You must link each recognized pattern with the corresponding bead type.

➢Select a row (pattern) from the left list.

➢Press on the green arrow next to the bling type you want to assign from the right list.

➢Repeat these steps until all the patterns are linked to stone types, then press the OK button.

Note: The Edit button allows to add or remove bling types from the Bling Palette.

The created beads are manual bling beads, and they are grouped by bling type, according to the order found in the HPGL/PLT file. This organization will make editing easier.

Convert Vector Objects

Convert a block of vector objects of the design document (as if they were shapes of a stencil file) into bling beads. This method can convert previously imported vector graphic files in several file formats, vector objects imported from other graphic applications or vector shapes created in this application by any way.

➢Load all the shapes (vector objects) of a stencil (small circles representing each rhinestone, etc) by any available way:

oImport a vector graphic file (in any compatible vector file format).

oGet it from Coreldraw or Adobe Illustrator, if possible.

oCreate the stencil shapes on-the-fly.

➢Select the stencil shapes you want to convert.

➢Click on the tooltab BLING

➢Click on the "Stencil to Bling" function, on the "Convert to" group.

The Stencil to Bling tool is displayed. You must assign a bling type to each recognized pattern (color, size).
