Issue

The installation program displays a message containing “Setup.cpp”

The error may occur:

During installation from a CD/DVD

During installation from Download (Full Version)

During installation through LiveUpdate

Cause

This error occurs during a software installation in Windows, when the installation program was not able to find a specific file to install.

Some aggressive security programs (antivirus, registry cleaners, etc) running in the background can erase some files or corrupt the integrity of some files, resulting in this error message. Those utilities have prevented the installation program to successfully install the software.

How to proceed

1.Uninstall the software from the control panel. Then restart the computer.

2.Download the cleaning tool (CleanDesignEra or CleanEmbroideryOffice) for your software version from the Area for Users.

3.Execute the cleaning tool. Then restart the computer one more time.

4.Disable any security program that could be affecting the software installation (antivirus, firewall, etc).

5.Check that the Windows Defender (antivirus) is enabled, to keep your computer safe.

6.Reinstall the software.

7.You can then re-enable the security programs. Some of those programs may also require to add the folder name where the software has been installed in their safe-list or exclusion lists or exception list, in order to keep the files unaltered on security scannings.
